Looks Normal to Me
Tonya's father has now encountered what he is told is a magical creature, and his reaction sounds much like his wife's original one--an assumption that nothing out of the ordinary is going on and that the police should be called. Do you think he will move from this to awe and happy acceptance like his wife did, or do you think a different reaction is in store?

The fathers reaction may have similar words, but the World View behind the words is the polar opposite (and the skill of our Authoress the more impressive that this is evident in a comic). Whereas the mothers initial disbelief was coloured with with longing for a touch of "otherness", the fathers disbelief is coloured with loathing and fear of that which is not familiar and predictable. I get the impression he will go out of his way to not notice any evidence and explain away what escapes unnotice. And if he fails and is forced to confront the reality of Ivy, he will feel hatred rather than wonder. I sense family conflict in the offing. If there is enough love and commitment in their marriage to hold them together during the conflict, this could be a growing experience.

I think Tonya's father will be stubborn and block any understanding of Ivy and try to get rid of her to someone else/not let the rest of the family have a say in keeping her, and make things very difficult for all of them. At a guess.

I'm going to have to agree with customdesigned and blondiviolette. I don't think Tonya's father will be as accepting as the three ladies of the family. Although the situation is unlikely, when someone your as close to as wife and daughters tells you something and you've known them long enough (I assume) to tel when they are joking, then I don't see how you approach a situation the way he did. I just hope he doesn't go jerky-dickus like the guys in the store because then it will make it almost seem like almost all of the females in Amanda's storyline have the potential to be loving, nurturing, and accepting to someone clearly in need and almost all of the males are dumbasses.
