Have anything to say about #324: ivy #77: every new grown-up? This is the place to discuss with others without having to post directly on the comic (though you're free to do both)!

Ugh, what a gross jackass. It's one thing to act like that when taken completely unaware, but after being prepared by your family, and going through a period of being an ass from disbelief, you'd think there'd be a more civil reaction once given proof.
Amanda seems to only ever get any positive reenforcement from females, and females of all types and ages. It's very bothersome that just about all the human males that encounter her have an awful reaction to her and/or plans for her and then do things that could potentially scar Amanda and enforce a dislike of males in general.

Yeah, seems a lot of the worst people she's met have been men. Her daddy was nice, and recently one of the people who took her down from the roof in #308 was at least quietly confused by her but didn't scare her or hurt her, but even though she likes Keith and Ernie since they give her cookies and oranges and entertainment, we can tell from their dialogue that they're pretty interested in how they can use her for their own benefit. :/ Women have had their share of crappy reactions to her, of course--Eva from #274 was indifferent to her needs and just sent her out into the lobby, and in #196 and #245 the homeless shelter women make her cry with their reactions to her. It's crappy that most of the people who are willing to accept her and take care of her despite her differences are female, but I hope it's clear from context that women aren't across-the-board saints of the comic. . . .

Yeah, but the two guys that "rescued" Amanda from the roof locked a claustrophobic in a small confined space and just let her freak out until she couldn't take it anymore and broke out on her own. Then the one that was left behind exacerbated things when she still sought comfort.
As for the ladies, I didn't say she didn't have bad experiences with females, just that she mainly only had positive interactions with females and not much at all from male humans.
