Your Strange Ways
Weaver mentions thinking some of Alix's "human habits" are weird. If you've had the experience of getting used to someone else's daily routines through living with them (temporarily or long-term), what practices of theirs did you find odd or interesting? Do you know what they thought of any of your habits?

Hm, let's see, in college I was forced to live with a roommate that would constantly lecture me on treating women as equals or with respect. See, he didn't believe this was correct and when he caught me doing it he'd try to force me to call them the b****es only by saying that word over me saying girls, ladies, women, etc. Then he'd play gangsta rap very loudly (usually Snoop Dogg's "B****es Ain't S**T") while he looked at himself shirtless in the mirror and mocked me for being naive.
The craziest thing about it was that he had a child by a girl in the business school program and a girlfriend that was a senior in a nearby high school, both beautiful and intelligent, well-mannered and would pay for things for him and kind of wait on him. He of course attributed this to his overall creed about women. I just had to live with it through the year and make an early request to move to a different dorm when I became a sophomore.
In more recent (and MUCH more pleasant) times I found myself staying for short periods with a friend that almost never ate big meals, only multiple tiny ones throughout the day. She also was so unconcerned with television watching that she didn't bother with upgrading things to digital and therefore had no television service at all (though to be fair, even before she didn't have cable or an antenna and only received one or two local stations).
With her I adapted to that lifestyle and lived mostly as she did. When I returned home I found myself not very anxious to turn on my television anymore and have since mostly stopped TV watching altogether, only bothering to keep semi-current on some of my favorite things (a few of which will be ending soon) through the internet. I really don't miss it that much either.
As far as my habits go... Well, I don't usually sleep much or for very long. Sometimes I do get to the point of exhaustion where I begin to nod off but I try to refuse it. Consequently, I will fall asleep for moments with gaps of lucidity in between. However, these little strokes of unconsciousness are strange because my mind continues to accept input and I kind of dream that I am fully awake and even snap awake speaking and answering things that happened while I was asleep.
Her reaction to that habit? I don't think she really noticed any of it. ;D
